No Smoke Without Fire – Is Benson and Hedges Making Light of Health Regulations?

Benson and Hedges, a tobacco company has raised the ire of anti-smoking groups, by reinventing the packaging of cigarettes in tins which carry health warnings in the form of stickers

While the government still mulling over the inclusion of graphic pictures on cigarette packets, Benson and Hedges, a tobacco company has raised the ire of anti-smoking groups, by reinventing the packaging of cigarettes in tins which carry health warnings in the form of stickers that can be easily removed.

Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) director, Becky Freeman, is mighty peeved with the Tobacco Company for inventing ways to reduce the impact of health warnings and regulations.

The Ministry of Health will be looking into the aspects of whether the stickers violate the tobacco regulation, and if they do so, the legislation may come in for some correction. These decisions are expected to be taken within a week.
