by Savitha C Muppala on Dec 17 2006 3:32 AM

The Norwalk bug is being considered as a plausible culprit for rendering sick nearly 260 Tewksbury students, after they returned home from school. The dynamic stomach virus has allegedly gripped several of the students in the John F. Ryan Elementary School, and was not about to spare anyone- teachers, parents and siblings alike!

“The school has just been advising us to keep everything clean,” said Sue McLaughlin, co-chairwoman of the school’s parent advisory board, who is sick herself.

Symptoms of this virus attack could show up as, vomiting, abdominal cramps and diarrhea, which is accompanied by headache, fever and chills.

According to Tewksbury Superintendent Christine McGrath, out of a total strength of 785 children at school, nearly 250 did not attend school due to the infection. Nearly a dozen teachers were also unwell.
