Cycling shoes manufacturer Louis Garneau Carbon Pro Team has come up with a novel way of keeping your feet cool by manufacturing shoes that contain popularly used sugar substitute. The company has used a sweetener known as xylitol which is commonly used in chewing gums and toothpastes, providing the minty cool sensation. Being a sugar based compound, xylitol evaporates when it comes in contact with moisture.
A number of other companies have been experimenting using this compound in fabrics such as cooling sleeves or socks etc. Louis Garneau said that the shoes will be available in the market by next month and will cost around $329.
