There are lots of choices for a smart thermometer and even the entry level products show excellent quality. Caring Things, based in Columbus, Ohio, has recently introduced a new thermometer known as Tympani.

According to the company, this infrared thermometer plugs into your smartphone’s audio jack to provide tympanic temperature measurements. An audio extension cable is included with the device and can be used when taking measurements that require a bit more flexibility.
