Owner Of National Kidney Hospital And His Wife Questioned On Kidney Racket Case In Punjab
Dr Rajesh Aggarwal, the owner of National Kidney Hospital and his pathologist wife Dr Geeta Aggarwal appeared before the special investigation team (SIT) in the kidney racket case in Jalandhar, Punjab. After being questioned for two hours, they were asked to submit written replies in two days explaining the technical and legal issues.
The police officials questioned Dr Aggarwal about the procedure and legal formalities for conducting transplant surgeries. There was no need to go to the authorization committee if the DNAs of the recipient and the donor matched and the surgeon could go ahead, even if the donor was not a kin of the patient, he explained.

The doctor laid the entire blame on the donors and recipients and said the entire manipulation was done at their level.

Dr Geeta was asked about the pathology laboratory in her name, which also has a collection center of Dr Lal Path Labs, to which the swapped samples of donors were sent.
