People who suffer from insomnia manage to burn more calories than those who sleep soundly at night, according to a new study conducted by a group of American researchers. Researchers from Colorado’s Sleep and Chronobiology Lab found that those who are unable to sleep soundly in the night burn 135 more calories than others.
And while this constitutes just seven percent more than the amount of calories burnt when sleeping, the researchers were quick to point out that sleep deprivation was a poor way of losing weight since it could lead to more serious problems.
