A recent survey by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons(ASPS) has shown that men are as much concerned about their appearance, as women. They found that liposuction and laser hair removal are among the popular procedures preferred by men. More than two thousand men were surveyed, and when questioned about what they would like to change about their appearance, 45% of men wanted to change their body contour, 25% - signs of facial aging, 13% - their nose, 12% - their chest and 5% wanted to change their legs. The survey revealed that approval for cosmetic plastic surgery was also high among men with 72% saying yes compared to only 10% who disapproved. The survey also found that personal reasons were the main reason why men would opt for cosmetic plastic surgery with 87% of men saying so. Relationship reasons and job reasons followed with 7% and 4% respectively. About 13% of patients, i.e., nearly one million men opted for cosmetic plastic surgery in 2001.
