A new study has revealed that music can be a boon to newborns as it can help them breathe easy as well as sleep well. The research found that music can put them into a quietly attentive state.
The sound of music can help a newborn calm down and sleep better by sending the infant into a quiet attentive state.

Playing live music to a prematurely born baby can help slow the heart beat, thus helping the child breathe easily.

Music was also found to improve sucking behaviors in babies which helps them feed well. It was also found to be more effective than using sedatives before giving them heart or brain scans.
