Pet products had issued a recall on some dry dog, cat and ferret foods due to possible salmonella contamination.

Pet products had issued a recall on some dry dog, cat and ferret foods due to possible salmonella contamination.
The list of recalled products has been expanded to include all dry pet food products and treats with expiration dates prior to and including March 24, 2014.

Officials of Michigan Department of Agriculture and the Georgia Department of Agriculture had found the presence of salmonella on samples taken from additional dry pet food and cat food treats and this discovery led to such an action.

The products facing a recall are usually sold at veterinary clinics and online as well and are being marketed n Australia, Singapore, Korea, Japan, Canada and Costa Rica.

The products being recalled are as follows:

California Natural, ferret food varieties, all sizes, Health wise , Innova and Karma All expiration dates prior to and including MARCH 24, 2014

The risk of contamination is high among people handling these products and therefore it is imperative that they wash their hands thoroughly. Contact your veterinarian if your pet has already consumed the recalled products.
