It has now come to light that six of the 13 pregnant women who lost their lives in two Jodhpur hospitals have died due to pre-existing causes.

"Contaminated intravenous (IV) fluid is the most probable cause of the death. However, we, after examining the follow up treatment and clinical history, believe that six women died due to pre-existing reasons," Maheshwari said.
The team have also asked Umaid hospital administration to take care of certain problems observed in the operation theatre and labour room of this hospital."We asked them to close down windows of the corridor of the operation theatre and use two labour rooms simultaneously so that one can be properly fumigated while the other is in use," he said.
