The actions and steps are being taken after Government tests investigated canned tuna and in found as much mercury as white tuna.

Highlighting the effects on health FDA says that high levels of mercury in the bloodstream may harm developing nervous systems.

Different doses of tuna have been permitted by different agencies. FDA has advised not more than 170 grams of tuna a week, Government guidelines are 340 grams while consumer Reports magazine reported that 6 percent of canned light tuna tested by the FDA "conatined same or twice that mercury amount as white tuna.

Advocating the cause of Tuna the U.S. Tuna Foundation trade group put that it has a plethora of nutritional benefits as well.

So it is up to the user how much info is good for them
