President and Founder of National Obesity Forum Resigns

National Obesity Forum Founder President resigns as the forum during favor for the anti-obesity drug companies in advertising on anti-obesity drugs rather than concentrating on obesity prevention.

Dr. Ian Campbell, General practitioner and founder president of the National Obesity Forum has resigned from his post. Campbell is pioneer in founding the national anti-obesity program at a time when people were ignorant about the health problems involved with obesity. Campbellā€™s resignation from the forum has taken many people into surprise, though there was lot of people in the forum against him as they threatened him they will take legal action against him for talking against the members of the forum.

Campbell has alleged that the forum is too much dependent on the anti-obesity drug manufacturers for funding due to which the forum is increasingly propaganda the beneficial affects of anti-obesity drugs and obesity treatment drugs and not concentrating on the prevention of obesity and advertising on ill effects arising due to obesity.

Campbell feels that the forum should coordinate with the Government rather than the drug companies to create awareness in public about the health hazards and ill effects involved due to obesity and ways by which healthy diet and regular exercises reduces obesity, which reduces the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes and other complications.
