‘Health Education Initiative’ was launched by JIPMER to improve awareness about the health and disease in patients, care givers, hospital staff and the public.
An interactive session on ‘Oral cancer: Causes, Symptoms, Treatment and Prevention’ is to be held at the Jawaharlal institute of postgraduate medical education and research (JIPMER). As a part of the health education initiative launched by director Subhash Chandra Parija, the session aims to create awareness about oral cancer and outline the importance of oral hygiene. It will help people to identify, seek medical help at the initial stage of cancer and will also give an overview of the treatment process. The program is targeted at patients, care givers and hospital staff and members of the public.
Specialists from the departments of radiotherapy, regional cancer center, ear, nose and throat and dentistry will address the session. The ‘Health Education Initiative’ was launched by the JIPMER in May to improve public awareness on health and disease. This is the seventh interactive session of the Health Education for All Forum.
