Proposal of Combined CET may Not See Light of the Day

The Human Resource Development Ministry’s suggestion of introducing a combined medical and engineering entrance exam may not materialize

The Human Resource Development Ministry’s suggestion of introducing a combined medical and engineering entrance exam across the country has fallen foul of the Union Health Ministry which has argued against any such move with the Supreme Court.

The HRD ministry had put in a suggestion of holding such an entrance exam starting from 2011-2012 with the main applicant, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), stating that such a move would prove to be beneficial to the students who will not have to take multiple examinations.
