People residing in Malwa region soon to receive best cancer diagnostic and treatment at Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital (HBCH) in Sangrur.
The Punjab Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) Mumbai on March 24, for setting up Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital (HBCH) at Sangrur. To impart best quality diagnostic and treatment facilities to the cancer affected people in Malwa region, HBCH would be set up at Civil Hospital, Sangrur and would act as an outreach facility to the upcoming Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital Research Centre at Mohali.
Vini Mahajan, Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare and RA Badwe, TMC Director, signed the MoU in the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on March 24.
The cancer hospital would have 10 day care beds, three Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds, three recovery beds and eight inpatient beds.
A spokesperson of the chief minister's office said, “The center would be equipped with cancer diagnostic and treatment facilities and RT treatment requirements like 3D-CRT, SRS, IMRT, IGRT, chemotherapy and surgical facility.”
