'QR Code Wristbands' Could Revolutionize Social Networking

Networking and exchanging email and phone numbers with one another will soon become easier and quicker through the invention of QR code wristbands.

A new company Skanz launched the gadget at the Consumer Electronics Week conference in New York City, hoping these will be a rage among college students and youngsters.

Now, Charge Smartphones by Sending Text
Researchers have developed a mechanism that allows you to charge your smartphones by just touching the screen or by sending a text.

The QR code wristbands allow users to share their digital information like Facebook and Twitter pages, favourite songs, pictures and blog sites with a quick flash of a smart phone.

'QR' stands for two-dimensional quick response, and when an image of a QR code is captured by a quick-response scanner or mobile phone camera, the user's device is directed to a website.

In Skanz's case, it would be linked to somebody's personal information that is stored on the company's website.

By accessing Skanz.com, the users can create and design their personal scan site and add any information that they want to share.

"A college guy may meet a cute girl and instead of swapping information, a quick flash of your QR Code will give them access to all the information they need to stay in touch," Live Science quoted a company spokesperson as telling the TechNewsDaily.
