A schoolgirl is recovering well, after a cancer unit administered a potentially deadly radiation overdose .Lisa Norris, is trying to re-build her life, and is currently receiving specialist oxygen treatment. She has re-joined school and will be celebrating her 16th birthday soon.
Lisa Norris from Girvan in Ayrshire, in a case of human error, was administered a radiation overdose 17 times at the Beatson Oncology Centre in Glasgow. She was being treated for brain tumor.Ken Norris, Lisa's father, said,” Although she still has scars on the back on her head she thinks it's just scabbing and it will probably fall off in the end. She is back at school and said it was funny being with her friends again”
According to her parents, the girl has always been upbeat and has never left her condition bog her down. Her mother Liz said: "She has been brilliant through this. She did say that it would not keep her down, and it certainly hasn't. She has a great sense of humor, and she has really done very well under the circumstances."
She has been feeling more energetic after the specialist oxygen treatment commenced. The doctors are extremely positive about her recovery.
