Ratatouille At AIIMS? Live Rat Found in Bread Packet, Officials Ban Company!

A Punjab-based company called Bonn Nutrients was the supplier and AIIMS had issued a show cause notice over this incident and has banned it for three years.

In a shocking incident that took place at the most prestigious hospital in the country, a live rat was found to be present inside a sealed bread packet.

“The rat was found inside a sealed packet of brown-hi fiber bread manufactured by M/s Bonn Nutrients. The medical institute has now banned the bread maker for three years. Also, the company failed to submit a satisfactory reply to the show cause notice issued to it,” said a senior AIIMS official.

Action Against 5 AIIMS Doctors for Treatment Lapses of Deceased Dengue Victim
The committee has found five doctors of the hospital to be guilty of lapses in the treatment of the youth undergoing treatment for dengue.

After this incident, the authorities at AIIMS have decided to ban the manufacturer/ supplier for the next three years. A Punjab-based company called Bonn Nutrients was the supplier and AIIMS had issued a show cause notice over this incident.

“A live rat was found on 29.07.2015 in the sealed packet of brown-hi fiber bread slice manufactured by M/s Bonn Nutrients Pvt. Ltd and the company has failed to submit satisfactory reply to the show cause notice dated 09.09.2015,” was stated.

Patients at various wards and also who have undergone surgery have been served with this bread as a part of their daily meal. According to doctors, consumption of rodent-infected food can lead to allergy, fever, diarrhea, besides causing blood infection and meningitis.

AIIMS currently is under tremendous pressure because of huge rush of patients and expansion of existing facilities would help in catering to the large crowd properly.

“The company has also failed in keeping good manufacturing practice. The quality wing of the company has failed in detecting such incident before the supplies are packed in cartons,” added the notice issued by AIIMS.

Bonn Nutrients produces a variety of food products including breads, biscuits, cakes and cookies that are not only sold in India but in the international market as well.
