Report Submitted to Court Says Chris Brown Has Bipolar Disorder
American singer Chris Brown has reportedly been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and his behavioral problems could be the result a mix of the condition and post-traumatic stress disorder, court documents reveals.
According to a letter sent by a residential treatment facility which has been included in the probation officer’s report, the 24-year old has Bipolar II and PTSD and tried to self-medicate his mood swings inappropriately, making him aggressive and act out physically.

Brown reportedly completed a 90-day course of anger management therapy at the facility, which praised his willing attitude towards his community service requirements, stating that the singer rose an 5am and performed his tasks without having to be prompted.

“Mr. Brown will require close supervision by his treating physician in order to ensure his bipolar mental health condition remains stable. It is not uncommon for patients with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Bipolar II to use substances to self-medicate their biochemical mood swings and trauma triggers. Mr. Brown became aggressive and acted out physically due to his untreated mental health disorder, severe sleep deprivation, inappropriate self-medicating and untreated PTSD”, the letter said.
