A Portuguese newspaper has claimed that the services of an American surrogate was sought by Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, to have his baby. According to the Daily Mail, an article in Diario de Noticias says Ronaldo conceived the little boy by paying a surrogate in San Diego at the end of last summer.
A representative for the footballer's management company Gestifute confirmed the 25-year-old was a father but did not comment on the surrogacy report.
According to the newspaper, Ronaldo went to the Algarve region of mainland Portugal to meet the baby as soon as Portugal were eliminated from the World Cup by Spain on June 29.
He waited until then to name his son, the newspaper said.
The Telegraph reported that another Portuguese newspaper, Correio de Manha, said that Ronaldo's mother, Delores, and sisters Elma and Katia would raise the child.
Katia Aveiro told the newspaper that her brother was 'very happy about becoming a father'.
