LA prison authorities are going to probe into claims that Paris Hilton received preferential treatment during her stay in the detention.

LA prison authorities are going to probe into claims that Paris Hilton received preferential treatment during her stay in the detention facility last month.

Rumours were rife that the socialite, who served time for violating terms of probation, was given several privileges by the prison authorities.

It is said that the ‘Simple Life’ star was allowed to use her cell phone, and that she was provided with a new prison uniform instead of a recycled one given to other inmates.

Steve Whitmore, spokesman for sheriff's department, said that thorough investigation will be made regarding the claims.

“We're going to investigate it and get to the bottom of it and find out exactly what happened,’ Contactmusic quoted Whitmore, as saying.

It was also said that Hilton’s relatives jumped visitor’s queues while they paid a visit to the facility.
