It may be safe to sunbathe in the morning, a recent study has pointed out. The ability of the skin to tolerate the damage from ultraviolet (UV) radiation is different at different times of the day.
This just means that skin cancer may not pose a great risk if exposure to the sun occurs in the morning hours.
"Our research would suggest that restricting sunbathing or visits to the tanning booth to morning hours would reduce the risk of skin cancer in humans," said study leader Professor Aziz Sancar, from the University of North Carolina in the US.
