The subjects of the study were victims of urological problems but this did not affect their penile length. During the study, the size of their penis was measured under anesthesia.
Following this, the measurements were compared to the difference in length between their second and fourth fingers on the right hand.
Researchers then arrived at the digit ratio which is calculated by taking the length of the index finger divided by the length of the ring finger. A lower ratio meant that the penis was longer.
