South Korea health ministry reported one more Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) virus death on Tuesday, raising the death toll to 33.
South Korea is currently facing a Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) outbreak. The health ministry reported a death due to the MERS virus on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. This has now raised the death toll to 33. The health ministry said, "The number of MERS cases remained constant at 182 for the third consecutive day, indicating an abatement of the infection since the first case was identified on May 20. Two patients were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of those discharged to 95. A total of 54 patients are still under treatment. The number of those quarantined reduced from 2,682 on Monday to 2,638 on Tuesday."
