Trent Arsenault of Fremont is in trouble with the Federal Government for fathering 14 children in the last 5-years through free sperm donations to childless couples.

The FDA has asked him to stop giving away his sperm, or face a $100,000 fine or up to a year in prison, on the grounds that he has been ignoring federal regulations that require blood tests every time a person donates any kind of body tissue or fluid.
In his defense Arsenault said that he donated sperms out of a sense of service to help people who want to have children but cannot afford conventional sperm banks.
American Society for Reproductive Medicine has advised that people seeking help to start a family should go to sperm banks, which follow stringent rules for screening sperm for infectious diseases, including HIV, hepatitis B and C, and syphilis.
