Children who are enrolled for early health check up programs and attend kindergarten at the right age also develop to be healthier adults than those who do not.

A research study had followed up for 25 years the children who had participated early in these health and educational programs had recently published its findings. Researchers of Children's Hospital Boston and Boston College had conducted the Brookline Early Education Program that had community based programs like providing health and educational guidance to the parents, and had included interventions like visiting the homes, organizing parent groups, providing public libraries for toys and books, and encouraging parents to enroll their children for preschool and kindergarten programs early, etc. researchers had encouraged the families from three months before the birth of the child to the time the children join the kindergarten.

When compared with the other children belonging to the same social strata, the children coming from urban areas had reported very good or excellent health as adults, with healthier lifestyles, showing better equipped to take care of their health, and suffered from less depressions. For the semi-urban children who were participants to the program also reported as being as healthy as ever, with the disparity in the family incomes not being able to create any difference in the health conditions of these children.
