According to reports by the local media the latest victim is from Quebec while the first two are from Toronto. It is not known when the third case was reported. The affected products are produced in California and sold under the names Bolt house Farms 100 Per Cent Carrot Juice, President's Choice Organics 100 Per Cent Carrot Juice and Earthbound Farm Organic Carrot Juice.
Since the report of these incidents the juices have been removed from store shelves and consumers who purchased the products were advised to discard them.
Nerves are usually affected by botulism and symptoms such as trouble swallowing, blurred vision, paralysis and probably death in some 10 percent of cases, usually occur 12 to 48 hours after ingestion.
