An expert, who is also an adviser to Prime Minister David Cameron, feels that people should stop buying last rounds of drinks to avoid binge drinking. Richard Thaler, a professor at Chicago University, said that the best way would be to split the tab between all members of the party in order to avoid buying rounds of never-ending drinks.
“I would say if there were more than three of you I would run a tab. These are the kinds of things that policy makers and publicans should be thinking about," he told The Daily Telegraph, adding that the matter had been discussed with a senior official in the Cabinet Office.
Professor Thaler has authored the book Nudge: Improving Decisions About Health, Wealth And Happiness.
He also said that councils could also make decisions about lowering or raising the age for drinking.
