Study Finds Today's Kids Make School, Career Decisions Early

Children in today's age start making decisions regarding their study and career early, according to a study.

Researchers at UK's Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) sought to understand how young children perceived the educational and occupational possibilities available to them and how they made choices.

Babies born from 2010 will form new Generation Alpha, the most formally educated generation in history,according to experts.

Professors Croll and Attwood found that boys and girls from all backgrounds saw education as important in securing their future.

Professor Croll said: 'What is very striking is that for this generation there is absolutely no gender stereotyping in hopes for the future.

"Furthermore, what children say at the age of 11 about school participation after the age of 16 is highly predictive of their actual behaviur.'

Kids Encounter Depression If Sufficient Playtime is Not Allotted
An expert from Australia has said that kids who do not get enough playtime in early childhood, tend to suffer from depression and mental illness in adolescence.

The 'Understanding Society' research further discovered that girls were as likely as boys to see themselves as providing for their families and boys were as likely as girls to see marriage and kids as an important part of their lives.

But most important for both boys and girls was landing a good job and school was seen as instrumental in achieving this.

Food Allergies in Kids Show Alarming Increase
Researchers National Center for Health Statistics at the CDC report that food allergies have risen by almost 20% in kids over the last decade.
