Ahmedabad: Samples from a poultry in Surat district of Gujarat has tested positive for bird-flu, and this has led to the resumption of culling operations on chickens, around this area, according to an Official report.
Thankfully, no cases of bird flu among humans have been detected. The results were announced yesterday, after samples from Timoli farm were sent to a lab in Bhopal. Culling operations have started in these areas, and 19000 chickens are slated to be culled today along with the disinfecting operation which will gain momentum.All the workers who are involved in these operations have been give preventive shots of Tamiflu.
