In a rare moment of candidness, Scottish singer Susan Boyle has opened up about her battle with depression.
Boyle, 48, who is set for a third week on top of the album charts, revealed that she suffers from bouts of anger and mood swings that stem from a "hellish" childhood."I can be up and down like a yo-yo. I can be depressed," the Sun quoted her as saying.
"I know I'm taking a big chance telling people this but you have to be honest. I used to be made a fool of at school.
"It was psychological bullying and that leaves a scar and it also cultivates a lot of anger.
"When people are a wee bit slow others pick at them. My life was made absolute hell," she added.
The singer from Blackburn, East Lothian, has now become a multi-millionaire after winning Britain's Got Talent in April.
