Swine Flu Cases Increase to 74 in India

The first ever swine flu case reported in West Bengal has taken the number of Indian cases to 74.

The first ever swine flu case reported in West Bengal has taken the number of Indian cases to 74. The latest victim is eight-year-old girl Shruti Ghosh, who arrived recently from Australia.

Meanwhile the National Institution of Communicable Diseases (NICD) confirmed that a 15-year-old girl from Hong Kong had tested positive for the influenza A (H1N1) or swine flu virus.

Delhi continues to have the highest number of cases in the country at 31, followed by Hyderabad at 17. A couple, who travelled from the US via Germany, was the latest cases in Delhi.

Meanwhile Chandigarh also reported its first swine flu case on Wednesday.
