A four-year-old girl has succumbed to swine flu at Pandesera at the Surat Municipal Institute of Medical and Education Research (SMIMER). The girl named Muskan was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday in a serious condition although she was aware of her surroundings.
Swine flu appears to have made a comeback in villages as well. Dr Piyush Shah, nodal officer, H1N1 cell, Jilla Panchayat, said that the total number of positive cases in and around Surat is now 159.
"A five-year-old son of a 28-year-old man, who had tested positive for the virus on Monday, too, is affected by swine flu. Both are receiving treatment in New Civil Hospital of the city and are residents of Kuber Park Society of Ved Road area,” he said.
