A poll of 2000 people between the ages of 18 to 65 about the bare necessities of life revealed some startling answers.
Food, water and shelter may have been the bare necessities of life, but in this technology driven generation, looks like the chip rules the roost! The poll revealed that a lot of people consider a cup of tea, a fast internet connection and a night in front of the TV stretching on the couch, as the bare necessities of life.

Apparently, it is these bare necessities of modern day life that helps Britons make slight of their worries and struggles. When quizzed about the top twenty things that they cannot live without, some confessed to a full English breakfast along with a glass of wine or a pint of beer.

The list is getting interesting with people having fancy items for bare essentials. For instance, four out of 10 respondents put iPhones on the list of bare necessities.

All the same, some of the respondents felt guilty about obsessing over material possessions and felt they should add more value to love and friendships.

Women needed cuddles and some of them put it as their No.1 bare necessity, while men felt television most certainly was a bare necessity. One-third of people said their spouse was their top most bare necessity.
