In the US, millions of teens are getting ready for college, but some are also going for cosmetic surgery as they get ready for the most exciting time of their lives.
However doctors are warning that teenagers must be aware of the risks as well especially in the light of the death of an 18-year-old who died from what was likely a pulmonary embolism after liposuction.Richard D'Amico, president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons told the U.S. News & World Report that most teens have unrealistic expectations from cosmetic treatments. In such a scenario it was better to get counseling.
As far as liposuction was concerned, he said it was not advised in teens under the age of 18. So teenagers preparing for cosmetic surgery and parents allowing it must be aware that there are definite risks to some procedures and at times it is better to be safe than sorry.
