In order to prevent the spread of swine flu in the state, Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekara Rao spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to seek the Center's help to contain the virus. 13 people have lost their lives due to the ailment so far. The Chief Minister has reportedly asked for special medical teams and necessary assistance in the form of aid. He also called for an emergency cabinet meeting in Hyderabad to discuss the measures to be taken to tackle the problem. He further asked all medical professionals to be alert.
The total H1N1 cases tested positive during January has risen to 221, thus making it urgent for the government to tackle the situation.
