Telangana Doctors Back CM K Chandrasekhar Rao

The Telangana Doctors’ Association has come up in support of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s decision to shift the TB and Chest Hospital to Vikarabad.

They have also accused some Andhra doctors of encouraging protests by staff. It is learnt that the chief minister is determined to shift the hospital despite objections by the opposition Congress and TD besides a section of hospital staff.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MP Mr Narasaiah Goud, along with Dr Veeresham, president of Telangana Doctors’ Association and other members met Mr Rao at the Secretariat on Wednesday.

Sources said that the CM was asked to ensure basic amenities like residential quarters etc. at Vikarabad. They added that Mr Rao is likely to take a decision on utilisation of the Chest Hospital land in two or three days.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Shabbir Ali, former minister, demanded that Mr Rao immediately withdraw his ‘autocratic’ decision to shift the TB and Chest hospital.
