“The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street’” Could Have Never Happened

Golden Globe winner ‘Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street’ almost got shelved, when lead star Johnny Depp’s young daughter took ill.

Golden Globe winner ‘Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street’ almost got shelved, when lead star Johnny Depp’s young daughter took ill.

Filming was halted when 8-year-old Lily-Rose was admitted to a London hospital with the lethal E.coli virus last March.

Seeing his daughter’s condition, Deep kept a bedside vigil with partner Vanessa Paradis.

The 44-year-old actor said that he was not sure whether or not he would make a comeback in the film industry.

“I don’t know what anyone else’s feelings were at the time – whether I was coming back or not. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to,” The Sun quoted him, as saying.

“But Tim Burton, the director, and the production were unbelievably supportive and said, ‘Look, we’re hitting pause,” he added.

Finally in November Lily Rose was cleared off the infection and Depp returned to the set of the film.
