The Link Between Childhood Vaccinations And Diabetes Questioned

Recent researcher has shown that there is no link between childhood vaccinations and type 1 diabetes.Research conducted over the past few years has suggested vaccinations that kids get in early childhood to protect them against polio, diphtheria and other diseases might be putting children at higher risk of developing type 1 diabetes.

Studies have shown countries where childhood vaccinations are common have more type 1 diabetes. Laboratory findings have also suggested some vaccines may cause while others may protect against diabetes. Other reports indicate infections occurring after vaccination may play a role.

For the study researchers followed the entire population of children born in Denmark between 1990 and 2000 to assess the real risk to kids. Results showed no increased risk of type 1 diabetes among children who received the normal childhood vaccinations.

Thus researchers say based on their findings there appears to be no support for any causal relation between childhood vaccination and type 1 diabetes.
