A bluetooth finger-glove called ‘Thimble’ is all set to help the visually impaired. This was designed by Erik Hedberg and Zack Bennet. This new gadget works as a Braille when hooked up to your smartphone. All kinds of messages can be conveyed to the user by pulsing braille shapes on fingertips via an ‘electro tactile grid array’.
This invention will also allow multimedia access. It also has a camera that can scan words and transcribe them into Braille. This feature comes along with a microphone. Thus the user can ask the location and the phone will provide the information via GPS and the user can read it with the help of the Thimble.
