Torax Receives CE Mark for FENIX Continence Restoration System
Minnesota based medical device company Torax Medical has revealed that it has received CE Mark for its fecal incontinence treatment device, FENIX Continence Restoration System.
Torax CEO Todd Berg revealed that FENIX works by augmenting the incompetent anal sphincter muscles and thus treats fecal incontinence.

“The FENIX Continence Restoration System represents a promising new treatment option for patients suffering from this debilitating problem. We plan to work with medical centers which specialize in the treatment of fecal incontinence as we introduce the FENIX System in European markets,” he added in a released statement.

Fecal incontinence is a difficult condition to treat and is thought to affect at least 30 million people in the US. It is often caused by damage to the anal sphincter muscles and damage to the nerves of the anal sphincter muscles or rectum.
