It has emerged that a 75-year-old man regained his hearing after an earthquake hit the capital of the United States.
The 5.8-magnitude tremor turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Robert Valderzak, of Washington, D.C., who lost his hearing in a fall on June 19, this year.

According to myFOXdc.com, the cancer patient was admitted at the Virginia Medical Centre, and had been using a special speakerphone and an audio device system to communicate.

But after the quake struck the city early morning, Valderzak told his visiting four children that he could suddenly hear and talk again.

"My hearing is back. I can hear everything, people in the hallway," the Herald Sun quoted him as saying.

Dr. Ross Fletcher, chief of staff at the Virginia Medical Center in northwest D.C., termed the return of his hearing as a 'miracle', but insisted that further tests would need to be done.
