Tussle between doctor duo and Austalian health service board

Mediation between doctors and health service board stalled following friction and allegations of discrimination and breaches of medical standards

Australian media reports that the board of the Central Gippsland Health Service has decided to stall mediation with two paediatricians.from Sale.

Peter Goss and Jo McCubbin had resigned from the Sale Hospital last June, saying that they were compelled to take such an action because of threats to services. However they would continue their services by working in Gippsland from another place.

In an open letter to the hospital board, two weeks ago they insinuated that there had been obvious breaches of medical standards and medical ethics and starkly visible discrimination against them.

The hospital administration has categorically denied the allegations flung at them by the duo and explains that further mediation was not possible until certain existing issues were dealt with. .The board has countered this letter by calling in lawyers to see if this letter can be labeled “defamatory” to take up necessary legal action if required against these two doctors.
