After waiting for 25 years and spending almost 100,000 pounds, a couple in Britain have finally become parents to twins.
Neil and Monique Ward married in 1985, but they were left childless as the husband suffered from a low sperm count.Determined to have a baby they started a process on the NHS where sperm is put directly into the uterus through a catheter.
However, eight attempts later they realized it was fruitless. o, they chose to do IVF and spent 12,000 pounds on three unsuccessful attempts.
Again, four years later they tried a different IVF technique, with Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection at a cost of 5,000 pounds a treatment, but all failed.
Finally, in 2008 they found the IVI Fertility Clinic in Valencia, Spain, where donor eggs and sperm were put directly into Monique's uterus.
Even though their first attempt was a failure, Monique became pregnant five months later.
