A cure for cancer has always been on the wish list and to take this forward, two Bangalore-based institutes have joined hands with The University of Cambridge. Their collaboration will give a renewed thrust to the area of cancer research and an opportunity to understand the disease and its spread to different parts of the body.
The department of biotechnology has granted financial assistance of Rs 94 crore and this has helped the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) and the Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (inStem) to team up with the renowned university and Medical Research Council of the UK.
