With this , the total number of cases reported so far touches 9. The health ministry has confrimed that no H5N1 strain has been detected any where in the country. Nearly 29,000 chickens have been culled ever since the outbreak.The suspected bird flu patient was admitted to Rawalpindi General Hospital (RGH).Apparently, the patient had 102 degree centigrade fever with cough and flu.Blood specimens, throat and nasal swabs of the patient have been despatched to the National Institute of Health to investigate for the avian influenza virus.The patient is being administered Narbic, Nafcin and other anti-viral capsules.
