UK Children's TV presenter Mark Speight who committed suicide a few days ago had been depressed over the death of his girlfriend; it was stated at the inquest Wednesday.
The 42-year-old's body was found last Sunday in an isolated building, six days after he went missing.Detective Inspector William Jordan of the British Transport Police confirmed the cause of death as hanging.
Speight – who presented popular BBC children's show SMart – died three months after he discovered his 31-year-old fiancée Natasha Collins dead in a scalding hot bath at their home in Marylebone, North London.
He was initially arrested for her murder and for supplying drugs. He admitted they had been “partying,” taking cocaine, sleeping pills and drinking alcohol.
In February, he resigned from the BBC and moved in with Natasha's mother Carmen, 57, in Palmers Green, North London.
She recently told how he turned up on her doorstep a “broken man” and that she would hear him sobbing in his sleep.

Passing builders found his body hanging from a steel beam just two floors above a police station on Sunday night. It is thought it could have been there for six days.
Five days before he went missing, Speight had looked gaunt at the harrowing inquest into his girlfriend's death.
Collins, also a TV presenter, died in their £500,000 flat in St John's Wood, London, in January.
It was Speight who found her body in their bathroom, with the hot tap still running.
He had also taken cocaine and sleeping pills and drank vodka the night before and subsequently blamed himself for her death
Racked by guilt and depression, Speight went missing last Monday April 7th.
His frantic family desperately tried to get hold of him, worried because he blamed himself for her death and was deeply depressed.
Kirsten O'Brien, Speight's co-presenter on children's art show SMart has described him as "without doubt the funniest man I've ever known."
She said: "Filming days were a joy as Mark would often have the crew and I doubled up with laughter and I think that showed on screen.
"As well as his fantastic art skills, Mark had a childlike enthusiasm for life, which is what made him such a hit with young viewers."
She added: "Mark could find light in the darkest situations for others. I'm only sorry he couldn't find it for himself.”
