Veebot is a robotic device that identifies the correct vein with sufficient blood flow and draws blood faster and more safely than human phlebotomists.
Veebot claims that its robotic phlebotomist can draw blood and insert IVs automatically by combining robotics with image-analysis software. An infrared light illuminates the inner arm and a camera picks out the location of the veins.
An ultrasound confirms the sufficient blood flow in the chosen vein to draw blood. Finally, the robotic arm moves the needle and inserts in the chosen vein.
The whole process takes about a minute, veebot correctly identifies the best vein to draw blood like a human phlebotomists, with 83 percent accuracy.
Recently, the latest model of veebot has been updated, which looks slicker than previous version and performs even better.
