Celebrities from Asia and the US contributed to the global struggle against HIV/AIDS at a fundraising event and raised US$2 Million.
The Foundation for AIDS Research, amfAR, recognized and honored Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh for her contributions to the global struggle against HIV/AIDS at a fundraising event.
Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow and Hong Kong businesswoman Pansy Ho hosted the event in Shaw Studios. Over US$2 million was raised and ceramics, paintings and jewellery were auctioned. Asian and US celebrities including Victoria Beckham, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and fashion designers Kenneth Cole and Vivienne Tam, as well as Wendi Deng were those spotted in the event.
The Foundation for AIDS Research is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and the advocacy of AIDS-related public policy.
