A British genetic company has revealed that it has developed a DNA sequencing device that is as small as a USB memory stick and can be plugged into a laptop to access its results. Oxford Nanopore Technologies said that the device, known as Minlon, could cost around $1,000 for small sequencing jobs and is perfect for those who are unable to pay over $50,000 to buy a sequencing machine.
The company added that the device will come into the market by the end of this year.
